Faith and Works

This morning at church our youth pastor gave an excellent message on the difference between faith and belief. After listening to Mickey's sermon this morning, I began to think about the difference between the two. He commented on how faith is belief with the actions to back up that you believe. I began to realize just how the two faith and works go hand in hand. You have to have works because they are the proof that you really believe. That you walk the walk not just talk the walk. Yet if you do the works without the faith you are really just going through the motions and putting on a show for others benefit. The more I thought about it the easier it was to understand. Faith and Works are like a pair of shoes. You need both shoes to go on your walk. Faith is like the right shoe and works is like the left. When you go out with just one not only do you look silly to everyone else you are off balanced and your walk is more difficult. The two shoes compliment each other and work together to make your journey easier. Using only one shoe is worthless just like having faith without works or works without faith is worthless in the kingdom of heaven.
